Our training is designed to insure your self-confidence and safety in the water through focused personalized instruction and repetition. You learn how to dive safely and comfortably with our Professional Instructors, bringing you a lifetime of amazing diving!

The SSI Open Water Diver Certification Course is a comprehensive program that focuses on safety, skills development and fun! Upon successful completion, your certification will be recognized worldwide! 

This course consists of 3 parts: Academics, Pool Training and Open Water Training Dives.

Academics: The SSI Digital Training Materials and Online Training program are designed to allow you to study at your convenience.  This portion of the program is available FREE online. Create a profile at DiveSSI.com and enter Wateree Dive Center as your affiliate training facility. 

When you are ready, contact the dive shop to schedule your classroom sessions to review materials with your instructor.

Pool Training: Practical training at a local pool will allow you to adjust to the equipment and develop your scuba skills in order to prepare for your Open Water Training dives.

Open Water Training Dives: The final phase are the required Open Water training dives to demonstrate your newly acquired skills. During the warmer months, open water dives are typically completed at Lake Murray.
